While Artificial Intelligence (AI) has come a long way in understanding and interpreting the human language, but understanding human emotions seems next to impossible for AI. This question must be at the heart of the creation of AI companions, also known as AI girlfriends. These complex algorithms pretending to talk and feel, but what do they really know about human feelings?
Emotional AI: Beyond the algorithms.
Affective computing or emotional artificial intelligence is the heart of any AI girlfriend. It is a technology that proposes to read and understand human affects — how we look each other (our outward manifestation of inner feelings). Progress in this area has been very exciting to watch. Needless to say, the subtleness and complexity of human emotions is one of the biggest obstacles to AI in understanding emotions. I think its not only word that emotional be tant but also a tone, body emotions, facial expression and even silence. Although AI systems such as Google and IBM have been able to detect emotional cues through natural language vocal patterns, they have fallen short with respect to the psychological attachments to these cues.
In addition, privacy and ethical concerns constrain what personal data these AIs can be creating from. However, this limitation limits the AI from analyzing various emotional expressions, hence keeping its comprehension of human emotions to a certain extent.

However, user feedback has also identified the potential and pitfalls of AI girlfriends. A number of users also report that these AI systems provide a reassuring voice that is a mimicry of understanding and empathy. Even though AI girlfriends are still quite a ways away from experiencing human emotions to their full extent, their understanding has moved a lot closer towards that goal.
